I light a candle in memory of you Alyssa, along with
all the other beautiful children in heaven
We love and miss you so much Alyssa!!!

This is the quilt square that I made in memory of Alyssa honoring her organ donation. This quilt square is being added to one of the many National Kidney Foundation quilts that travels around our country remembering those who gave the ultimate gift.
Here is the link for the quilt pinning ceremony that we were invited to participate in while at the US Transplant Games in Pittsburgh:

A sign from Above

On July 6, 2008 while spending time with Taylor, Ray and the kids at the beach 2 small dragonflies landed on the arm rest of my beach chair...call it coincidence or whatever you like but these 2 tiny dragonflies put their bodies together to form a heart shape...instantly Abbey said 'look grandma, they're making a heart...' Was it Alyssa and Ricky stopping by on the 3rd anniversary of them becoming angels letting us know that they are doing well and in love? I know it was them! I'm so grateful to have had my camera with me to get this snapshot!
WE MISS YOU ALYSSA & RICKY!!!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRECIOUS SIGN!!

Your resting place I visit Place flowers there with care But no one knows the heartache When I turn and leave you there A million times I've needed you A million times I've cried If love could have saved you You never would have died It broke my heart to lose you But you did not go alone For part of me went with you The day God called you home.

WELCOME... Welcome to all who visit Alyssa's site. We've devoted this site to Alyssa, our beautiful daughter, precious mommy, loving sister, caring aunt and dear friend to so many. She has truly touched our lives! Alyssa will remain in our hearts and in our minds forever...
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're so proud of you Alyssa... for being an organ donor!
Thanks, Mom, for your decision, I'm really proud of you. For you did something wonderful, You knew I'd want you to.
We come to this earth to show love, And to give as much as we can. You made the decision to give part of me, Knowing I'd help my fellow man.
I know that sometimes there's still sadness, And you really miss seeing me. Know that I'm always with you, Just not physically.
You wear the green ribbon pin proudly, And love for someone to ask. To tell them your daughter was a donor Is part of your work and task.
Mom, where I am now is wonderful, It's beautiful, I don't have a care. Remember, don't take your organs and tissue to heaven, Cause we don't need them there.
a poem for Abbey...
Your Mother Is Always With You Your mother is always with you... She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She's the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered socks. She's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well. Your mother lives inside your laughter. She's crystallized in every tear drop... She's the place you came from, your first home.. She's the map you follow with every step that you take. She's your first love and your first heart break....and nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, Not space... Not even death.... will ever separate you from your mother.... You carry her inside of you.... - Author Unknown.
The Cord author unknown
We are connected, My child and I, By an invisible cord, Not seen by the eye.
It's not like the cord That connects us 'til birth This cord can't be seen By any on earth.
This cord does its work Right from the start. It binds us together Attached to my heart.
I know that it's there Though no one can see The invisible cord From my child to me.
The strength of this cord Man could not create It withstands the test Can hold any weight.
And though you are gone, Though you're not here with me, The cord is still there But no one can see.
It pulls at my heart I am bruised...I am sure, But this cord is my lifeline As never before.
I am thankful that God Connects us this way. A mother and child
This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Alyssa Narloch who was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 03, 1983 and became an angel on July 06, 2005 at the age of 22 due to injuries sustained from an auto accident. She is now one of God's most beautiful angels in heaven. Alyssa was a beautiful person both inside and out. Her smile was absolutely priceless and infectious. You could get lost in her gorgeous eyes. Her hugs were indescribable...so warm and so loving. You could get lost in her hugs and wish they would never end. When she hugged you, you just knew that she was hugging you with so much love.
She was a devoted, wonderful, fun and loving mommy to her beloved daughter Abbey who will forever miss the love of her mommy. Alyssa once told me that "Abbey puts butterflies on my heart" and I know that those butterflies will be there forever and ever. Alyssa and Abbey were always together. Whether it was stopping by and visiting or running to do someones hair. Alyssa was an extremely gifted hairdresser who was able to color and style hair like no other. She loved being a hairdresser, it was one of the things she truly wanted to do when she grew up. I'm so grateful that she was able to work hard and accomplish this dream of hers.
One of Alyssa's favorite hobbies was scrapbooking...something she absolutely loved doing. She was extremely creative and so unbelievably talented, able to design a layout that was both beautiful and meaningful. She taught me the art of journaling, something she poured her heart and soul into. Her layouts have such beautiful messages for Abbey and I know this will mean so much to Abbey as she gets older. Alyssa had so much left to do with her scrapbooking, she had so many goals to achieve but her time was cut short. I do believe that Alyssa would have been published any day...my goal is to get one of her layouts published to fulfill this very real dream of Alyssa's.
Here are a few of her layouts...
One of Alyssa's greatest loves was her family! She cherished the time we all spent together and loved every minute of it. I know this is one of the hardest things for me is to be at family functions waiting for her to arrive her usually fashionably-late self . That was Alyssa though and that was so totally o.k. She lived a very busy life with no time really for herself, but she always held time with her family close to her heart.
Alyssa had a special way of constantly giving and caring for others, even when she herself was down and low. Alyssa's final act of giving was through organ donation. Two beautiful people live on now because of Alyssa. They are truly lucky to have a part of Alyssa with them forever. They received her kidneys and now are back to leading normal lives. We're so proud of Alyssa for giving this amazing gift of life... Alyssa's love will be felt forever ... we will all miss Alyssa and think of her until we meet again one day.
Here are a few of Alyssa's favorite things:
Favorite soap opera: Days of Our Lives Favorite day of the year: Her birthday Favorite dinner: Mustard pork chops Favorite soup: Chicken dumpling Favorite color: Pink Favorite smoothie: Strawberry, banana, blueberry & tofu smoothie Favorite drink: Grey Goose and cranberry juice Favorite sister: Taylor (fact provided by Taylor ) Favorite clothing store: New York & Co. Favorite ice cream: Cookie dough Favorite cake: Strawberry shortcake Favorite juice: Orange Favorite t.v. show: Charmed Favorite movie: Kate & Leopold, My Best Friends Wedding Favorite board game: Monopoly (LOL actually she hated it!) Favorite shoes: Flip flops (along with the hundreds of other kinds of shoes) Favorite hobby: Scrapbooking!!! and photography Favorite sport to play: Basketball Favorite sport to watch: Football Favorite sub sandwich: Ham and cheese (One other thing: Alyssa LOVED extra mayo on her sandwiches.) Pepsi or Coke? Neither. Alyssa didn't drink soda very much at all. Favorite music? Hip hop and Country Favorite tree: Flowering Crabapple (loved the gorgeous pink spring blooms) Favorite Chinese Food: Crab Rangoon and Beef & Brocolli Favorite thing to eat at Lori's house: Cottage Cheese
A Special Angel
There's a special angel in Heaven, That is a part of me. It is not where I wanted her, But where God wanted her to be. She was here just a moment, Like a night time shooting star. And though she is in Heaven She isn't very far. She touched the hearts of many, Like only an angel can do. I would've held her every minute, If the end I only knew. So I send this special message, To Heaven up above. Please take care of my angel, And send her all my love!
The Governor's Gift of Life Medal Ceremony
Alyssa's medal of honor awarded to her by the State of Wisconsin and Governor Jim Doyle August 11, 2006
August 11, 2006 - Today was the Governor's Gift of Life Medal Ceremony in Madison, WI where he honored the loved ones who gave the gift of life - the gift of organ donation. It was an incredibly moving experience for us to be there honoring Alyssa's unselfish final gift of life. We were so proud to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime ceremony. There was such a sense of love and sadness in the air, but needless to say, we were there to honor our beautiful Alyssa, who we miss so deeply. She made us so extremely proud of her in her brief, sweet lifetime.
Governor Doyle then gave a very meaningful and heartfelt speech about the gift of life that our loved ones gave and thanked us each for this. It really hit home when he said that the people of Wisconsin are forever grateful to our loved ones. We were then called up, one family at a time, to meet Governor Doyle and his wife. They were such kind and comforting people giving us hugs and thanking us each personally. We were given the medal bearing our loved ones name along with a long stem white rose.
We love you so much Alyssa!
